GlobVision’s Intelligent Soil Moisture and Roughness estimation Tool (IntelliSMART) is an operational software that provides remote sensing (especially SAR) data analysis and interpretation capabilities for the estimation of ground surface parameters, soil moisture and surface roughness from satellite imagery. As such, IntelliSMART provides invaluable information for scientific and industrial applications such as agriculture, hydrology, natural hazards and emergencies, environmental and metrological studies, and climatology. Soil moisture is a critical parameter in a number of hydrological and agricultural applications (e.g. watershed management, drought monitoring and prediction, crop yield optimization) as well as in climate modelling. IntelliSMART is the first fully integrated software to perform both simulation and inversion of classical radar backscattering models without the need to use multiple and frequently incompatible software applications.
