The Space Mission Analysis, Design and Optimization System (SMADOS) is a design optimization software to support and automate (i) the design of new optimized space missions and (ii) the analysis of previously designed space missions. More specifically, SMADOS substantially accelerates, automates and provides design decision support for the following SMAD processes:
- The execution of a wide range of detailed analyses on space missions; and
- The design and optimization of the full space mission (including ground and space segments) based on the mission-specific requirements and constraints
SMADOS can be used for the optimized design of single-satellite as well as constellation missions. It can be used throughout all phases of space mission design and operations including conceptual design, preliminary and critical design, LEOP, in-orbit operations and maintenance, and de-orbiting.
