DIAGNOSIS & PREDICTION
OF SYSTEM BEHAVIOUR

Designing a complex system is a challenge, but understanding it sufficiently to be able to predict a wide range of possible failure modes is a greater one. Particularly in harsh conditions (such as in space), it is critical to learn from the system’s behaviour over time and gain the ability to predict future behaviour or to recognize subtle anomalies.

Though various Artificial Intelligence techniques, GlobVision has successfully performed advanced monitoring of satellites and remote sensors to assess their operational behaviours and even predict future malfunctions. Such solutions can in turn be used to optimize the life of often expensive systems, and provide insights into the design and management of future generations.

For a brief overview of GlobVision’s capabilities in this field, see the following summaries of recent projects: Bridges, Dams, Fault Diagnosis of Satellite Subsystem, and Roof of the Montreal Olympic Stadium.
