HYDROLOGICAL / METEOROLOGICAL
DATA VALIDATION

GlobVision developed and implemented a system integrating data mining and artificial intelligence techniques to access, view, monitor and verify sensor readings and suggest/provide replacement values for failed sensors (missing values).

Data Validation System (DVS), originally a joint endeavour of GlobVision, Hydro-Québec, and the National Research Council of Canada is presently in use at Hydro-Québec and Ontario Power Generation. The DVS is a world class hydrological and meteorological monitoring and sensor validation solution that is marketed globally.. For more information on the DVS, click here.

Accurate and timely data for levels of water, precipitation, and water flows are critical to safe watershed management and irrigation networks and constitute an important input to assist hydro-electric utilities to optimize their operations and maximize their revenues. Hydrological data is also extremely important to the modelling of climate, the assessment of environmental and/or human impacts as a result of floods and for enhancing agricultural related activities.
